I don’t have words to describe it, but Marianowek´s live was a unique opportunity and experience, why? I don´t know, and I don´t know who to start to thank you. I have a very nice memory from the days there

And heart from heart is all I felt there. I learnt a lot of thing with you: patience, good manners, knowing how to listen, work, willpower, democracy, respect, friendship, a new lifestyle, honesty, openness, disposition and aptitude, team, hope…
It’s not little to learn, I can say I was happy while I was there. And it was for all of you and volunteers also, so THANKS.
I hope we would meet again in Marianowek, so I would clean Ziomek (the dog) another time, I would play Ping pong for chocolate, ofcourse play volley, learn basketball, and ride Ramiro with Arthur and Mariola, and meet Arthur’s son!!!
I hope everybody will finish the therapy, because “NADIE DIJO QUE FUERA FÁCIL, PERO NADA QUE LO SEA MERECE LA PENA”, and you can do it!

INFOS FOR VOLONTEERS
NZOZ Monar Marianówek Rehabilitation and Re- Adaptation Center, stationary therapy for drug addicts. The center is located in the north of Poland, in the fabulous landscape, in the middle of a forest, surrounded by lakes and fields. 30 km northwards there is the Baltic See and the touristic city of Kolobrzeg.
The center is based on therapeutic community.
Activities in frame of the therapy:
- carpenter courses, revitalization of nature and ecological agriculture courses, courses for the instructors of horse riding
- farm work, field work, taking care of horses, pigs, dogs, cats and our very special swan
- learning in a daily junior high school, or weekend classes in a senior high school
- team sports and long-distance runs, also marathons
- artistic activities, theater, choir and others
- excursions: long-distance walks in the mountains, canoeing trips
- and much more
Our Center exist since 1985. We have about 70 patients between the age of 16 and 26, also mothers with children and patient with double diagnosis. Considering number of patients Marianówek is the biggest Monar in Poland. The full theraphy program is one year long. From patients which finished it 70 % lives in drugs absince.We expect volunteer to prepare together with our patients cultural/ social activities as well es to take part in activities that we offer and to spend time with patients also in their free time.
Our volunteer must be drug abstinent. Being in our center or on the excursions with our group he/ she has to abstain from alcohol and sex.
